Time Flies

After a couple of days of yucky weather...Which I can proudly say, I used to catch up on some much needed indoor work, instead of lounging around wasting daylight. :-D....It's back on track around here.

I was hoping to get a hay barn built this year...But that didn't work out. I just don't give contractors much of a chance these days I guess. I hate it when people don't call back when they say they are going to (or even within a reasonable amount of time), hate when they won't show up when they say they are going to (and fail to call and let you know they are not actually coming) and really hate when they finally get around to calling and non-chalantly say, 'Yea, I'll be heading out there today to start on that hay barn.'...Two months after I initially tried to make contact?...No buddy, you will not be starting on a hay barn for me...or doing any other work either.

Oh well....

Not everyone is like that. I contacted one contractor about stuccoing our house and he called me back when he said he was going to, came out when he said he was going to, gave me quotes for the multiple estimates I asked about...AND showed up and started work when he said he was going too. Awesome business practices there dude!!

The house is finally getting an exterior update...

I'm so excited!! The addition of the 1" insulation and then sealing everything up with stucco is going to make a tremendous difference in our heating and cooling bills. Not to mention the outside of the house will finally look as nice as the inside. LOL. All that will be left is getting the roof reshingled next year and the house will be D.O.N.E!!!

In other news, I bought another horse.

LOL...I couldn't help it. He was just too stinking cute to resist...

He's a 3y/o registered Paint, sired by Starlights Starbrite, out of a Red Ant Rey/Great Pine mare. He's well-started as a reining horse, but got behind on his training (through no fault of his own) and was not ready for the futurities this fall. I bought him from my farrier, who raised and trained him.

I figured it was too good of an opportunity to pass up...I've been contemplating breeding a mare to Starlite and having the opportunity to ride one before I do is a bonus. This guy has the potential to go just about any direction. Starlite has produced mostly reining horses, but also some cutting, working cowhorse, rope and even some barrel horses. This guy is quick, catty and has some run to him....So you know what direction I'll be taking him in the near future. ;-)

I did buy him as a re-sale horse...though, I am rather hoping I can move something else before I get a serious offer on this one. I think he is going to be a fun one.

You must have called the same contractor I did to work on my hay barn. Literally two months after we gave up on him and finished the job ourselves, he sent me an email saying that he forgot about me because "somehow" all of my emails wound up in his spam box. He responded to the first five or so of my emails and I never changed my email address, so it sounded like a B.S. excuse to me. I think he finally ran out of work to do and was digging through his reject pile or something.

Nice horse. Stockings always remind me of go-go boots.

I'm not one to give much thought to moving on to the next guy if someone isn't straight up with me in our dealings. I don't have time for that kind of crap. You snooze, you lose.

Look at all that Chrome! lol

Love the chrome on his face! AH! Can't wait to see how he turns out. House looks great, sorry about the hay barn. Sometimes the best way to get a job done is do it yourself no matter how much of a pain in the ass it is. :/

Great news about t he house, and yup, I have zero tolerance policy for lollygaggers! Martin is easier going about it than I. But as far as I am concerned, no call back in a reasonable time? don't bother
