R.I.P. Bob

Baby Bob did not make it.

Darn it!

I thought he looked a little to docile last night and his poop didn't look the same.

He lasted days longer than I ever thought he would and seemed to be thriving up until last night.

Poor little guy.

How were his race times?

Kidding. RIP, baby Bird Bob. You tried, BEC, all you can do is your best, and you did it.

Nature is a harsh mother.

Aww, that's so sad. I was really thinking he was going to be ok. At least he had a fighting chance thanks to your efforts.

Crud. Hate that, when you finally think they're going to make it. Fragile little things...hugs.

At least you gave it a shot. More than some people would have done for him and his nestmates. He will suffer no more- the best we can hope for any animal. RIP Bob

I'm sorry Bob didn't make it. Those darn wild babies are just so sensitive! We've had several "displaced" baby birds around the property here this year (ie, fell out of the nest). I've made the kids leave them alone so nature could take it's course. Perhaps it's heartless of me, but I didn't want the kids getting attached and for super sensitive Doodle to become overly distraught if the birds didn't make it. Plus, I have like a kajillion cats. I'm not sure a bird would be safe in my house, which would be even more upsetting to the kids.
