Redemption

OMG!! F.I.N.A.L.L.Y!!!!

The kind of run I have been talking about wanting...and needing to get again.

We were winning, until the second to last horse beat me by a couple of thousands of a second. That's okay! I'll take that run and be completely happy.

He has so much more to give, but for now...this is just right.

Niiiiice run! Good 1st and loved your 3rd :)

Was it just me or did you get popped a bit on 2nd? Looked like something happened that threw you forward just a tad. Wondering if it was something with how he sets up and turns??? When Voodoo has a really good 3rd he'll almost rollback on it and sometimes that pops me forward. lol

So I'm guessing you finished 2nd then?

Cdn-It's my saddle. I'm running in a roping saddle cause it's the only thing I have that fits Moon. He's so odd-he's the narrowest horse I have and takes the widest gullet. It's cause his shoulder blades stick out. The saddle fits Moon, but there isn't much there for me to sink into-LOL. I was looking at dirt there for a split second on the backside of 2nd. I have huge bruises on the insides of my legs from holding on.

I did end up 2nd in the 1D. Fast time was 15.198, my 2nd place time was 15.261 and 3rd place was 15.301. The first three spots were pretty tight but after that it spread out.

It was a $1000 Novice horse class so not everything running in it was all that green. The horse that won it was obviously experienced and he was running as hard as he could. Moon was stretched out and running well, but he was by no means ALL OUT.

But I'm not going to be asking for any more speed until we are solid again. We have things to work on-He needs to come in about a 1/2 a body width in all of his pockets and I want to get him stood up a bit more in his turns. I think that will come around as he gets stronger in the hip and stifle.

I have to say you make that look so easy!! You two were HOT on Sunday. And I am so jealous you were in Moab. My parents live in Utah....
