Whats It Gonna Be?

Alright,
Woofer is obviously in no hurry to foal...ugh. I am really hoping that the vet wasn't a month off when he preg-tested her. That would not make Chris very happy as Megan and I are supposed to head to Colorado after the first of June to spend a couple weeks. But I would not/could not bring myself to leave until the old girl has foaled. Of course we can leave later but would not be able to stay as long because Megan's 4-H horse show is June 27th.
So lets have a little fun...
This is the stallion Woofer is bred to...

He is a 2001 AQHA stallion with the handle Fast Pistol 045. He is 37% Oklahoma Star bred. He has produced two foals. Both colts. One is a bay 3y/o that I have not seen. The other was the grullo foal Woofer lost last year.
He is not missing his eye-he just happened to blink and I did not notice until I posted the picture.

This is Diala Dandy Dolly, aka-Woofer, aka-Big Momma...

She is a 1984 model and has produced 4 foals. Two were by our King stallion, who was black, but registered as a brown. The first foal was a chocolate brown filly. The second foal was a sorrel colt. Her 3rd foal was by a sorrel stallion and it is a dun colt(Moon). Last year she carried to term a grullo colt by Pistol.

So what color do you all think the foal this year will be, what sex and when do you think she will finally have it?

As of this morning-her bag is not full, but slowly changing every couple of days or so. She is loose in her girlie parts and soft over her croup. The other day it was very obvious that her hip muscles had sagged away from her tail head. She was turned with the stud June 10th, 07. She was coming into heat at that time.

Well, well uhm lets see! I sure was hoping to find a foal pic! LOL! She is taking her sweet time! I think she will have a filly and she will be a sorrell and she will be born on May 30th. You know cows calve when the weather changes (or that is how it is down here!) or full moon! We would be watching cows and nothing and then a thunderstorm would come in and boom! Same with the full moon! Crazy I know! Good luck and I hope it is sometime soon!

You wait and see ... it's going to be worth the hours of stand-by.

So what will it be, you ask?

It's going to be a gorgeous bay colt. Stunning to look at, smart as a whip and the star of your ranch.

It's gonna be another grulla colt. Born on Memorial Day. That's my prediction :)
BTW, would anyone like a dog????

I think it will be a buckskin/dun stud colt. And of course he will be beautiful!Look at his parents! I hope all goes smooth!Sometimes it takes forever! It is worth it when they finally arrive and are healthy! I will keep checking back for new photos!!

I guess I forgot to put my prediction in-LOL. My wish is for a filly. Don't think I will get lucky enough to get another grulla, so I am saying it will be bay. Thats okay too-Pistol is the most beautiful bay. And I think she will have it on the 27th-because that is Chris's Bday and of course we want to go do something.

I'm guessing a grulla filly, born on May 27th. Totally random guess! ;) Hope she delivers the package before you are off to Colorado!

I am going to say May 28th and she will have a colt. I think the color will be dark bay. It would be really neat to get a dun!! But hope for some bad weather, like kdwhorses said, they always wait for bad weather to have babies.

Oh boy are we ever getting the nasty weather. About 3 inches of rain in the last couple of days, 40 mile an hour wind since Wednesday and today is supposed to be the worst day. Severe thunderstorms expected this afternoon with tornado watches and large hail.
Woofer is completely unfazed-LOL. Guess we all get a little more unflappable as we get older-hehehe.

Hmmm well, Colts "cook" longer, so I am betting on a colt... and I think it'll be bay.... born on the 29th......

Heres hoping I am wrong on the date for ya! ;)

Lots and lots of mares are going over this year. It's really been a strange year for foalings and for breeding.

I wouldn't even presume to take on Mother Nature and guess a foaling date. But as for sex, I'd say colt.
