More Rodeo

I threw in a few more rodeo pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Of course, I love to watch the barrel racing. These girls had a tough go. There was a lot of water standing. They had to run through a lake to get to 1st. First was deep and wet. Second was a lake and Third was deep. Not a lot of slippage though since they added sand to the arena.

The next generation of "roughies" preparing to hone their skills...
Comraderie is learned early!!

You have to work the leather before your ride...

It looks pretty dramatic, but ole bay pretty much did a slow roll to the side. The kid stayed with him and was a mud monster when he got up. They use younger horses(3-4y/o)for these kids so they don't have as much "snap" and power. The problem becomes that the younger horses are still learning how to handle themselves too.

There was much discussion while preparing the bull rope...

Wonder if they were talking about this guy?...

I seemed to have picked up a fondness for gray horses...Don't know why that happened. I have never really paid much attention to them before. But there are getting to be some good-looking ones around. This guy was a hazing horse and I am pretty sure he was a stud.

Yep...thats a girl flanking that bareback horse. There was another one running the stripping chute. Cowgirls ROCK!!!

"Sometimes the best "Cowboys" aren't "Cowboys" at all." Anything a guy can do we can do too! Sometimes even better than a guy! Great pictures by the way!
