What we strive for...

Ahh - another Monday under the belt. The weather just won't do what it is supposed to do-which is rain. Yesterday was a miserable, windy day with snow off and on. Not even the good wet kind, just dry swirls throughout the day. Today, again, cold and windy but no moisture. We are so dry. They keep promising us some rain...So rain already!! I won't even mind dealing with the mud for a few days.

Had to cut the red out of Megan's hair tonight. I guess it is considered "unsportsmanlike" to have odd colored hair and if she did not remove the color she would not be able to run at her track meet this week. I guess I can understand that. She needed a good trim anyway, so really we killed two birds with one stone.
Mikey-I do look at Megan and go WOW. I know I am prejudiced(spelling??) but I am one lucky parent. My girl and I may not always see eye to eye but she is one special girl.

Last night, I was doing some research on bloodlines on the net and ran across these pictures. These pictures make me very proud.
The first two pictures are of Dandy Dial Command, aka-Pistol. He is by our old King stallion out of my wonderful old mare whose foal I am anxiously awaiting this May.

He is owned by a super nice lady in Colorado. I understand he is for sale and if you have an extra $40,000 laying around, you too can have a PRCA quality barrel horse, but only if she approves you. She had a baby and doesn't want to see his talent wasted because she can't haul him as much.
The next two pictures are a colt and filly out of Pistol's full sister. This mare, Shesa Dandy Command is owned by Brian Fulton in Nebraska. I was stupid selling the only filly my old mare ever had but if anyone else had to have her, I am sure glad it is Brian. Brian's website is currently unavailable so I could not get a picture of Dandy for you, but I can tell you she looks almost identical to this colt...

He is by Bully for Casey. Looks like a rodeo horse to me.
The filly below is by A Streak of Fling...

She looks just like her daddy. It is truely gratifying to see these horses and to know that the few people that have them appreciate what they have.

Look at dem hips! Wooooweee! Purty horses :)
Love the post. Megan is gorgeous, that pic of her driving in profile is so beautiful. She's really grown into her "young womanhood" and it's so neat to see. You've raised a nice girl there. And she's just like her mama :)
Good job! Pat on the back to you!
Now get out and ride some horses!
(I rode Sunday until my ass chapped and the horse sweat got to it. Halfway down a hill I had to swap horses w/Wade because my ass was on fire, ugh!)

Having horses in homes where they are appreciated is a breeder's dream. You just can't ask for much more than that as far as I'm concerned anyway.

They look like some very nice horses.

If those aren't some fine quarter horses than I'll eat horse poo! Hey, by the way, I've just given you girls an award in Excellence of Equine Care. You need to come on over and pick up your award and then think of someone deserving to pass it along to! Congrats!

Wow! Nice looking butts! I agree they are beautiful looking horses! Megan is gorgeous, I too love the profile pic of her. I agree with Mikey give yourself a great big pat on the back. I will share some of our rain with you! It has been raining off and on for about a week and a half. Best chances is for today through Thursday. Have a great day!

Mikey-Oh yes-Megan is turning into a young lady. I am so glad the 1st boyfriend thing is over though. I am awed at the fact that she realizes that she doesn't really want a boyfriend. She says they take up too much time. Wow!! If only I had been that smart at her age...

Both you and Kris have beautiful daughters as well. I love seeing the pictures of the things you do with your girls.

And Mikael put it perfectly-it is a dream having placed horses in such homes. Even though Pistol is for sale-Sheri won't let him go to just anyone. So I am confident that if she does get him sold-he is going to a good home.

Callie-Thanks for the award. This blog thing is really fun.
