GiWaNe

That's Shooter's newest nickname...GiWaNe, aka...Pony Boy. He is currently at the stage where he looks like a darn pony.

He has his nose into everything...

What did you call me???

You can call me anything you want...just don't call me late to breakfast...

Or lunch...
Or dinner...

Finally, a warm day(we hit 40 by noon)...The poop piles have released their hold on the ground and I can clean up their eating area. Just in time to get ready for another cold spell...Gahhhh-I hate this time of winter. I'm ready for it to warm up and stay warm!!
K-gotta go...much to do yet today!

LMAO...Doesn't my place just scream BYB?? Saggy barbed wire fences and tons of poop piles...Holy Crap...do you think the internet police will have me arrested??

Scrapped

The other day Mzzzz Mikey "scrapped" me and I had to do some thinking....Hmmmm 10 things of interest?

1)I like to move. Three to four years in any one place and I am ready for something new. It is a great way to de-clutter on a regular basis. However, Chris is a guy who likes to travel and do things, so I think living in one spot with him will be easy, because he is always up for an adventure. Now if I would just stop procrastinating and get Megan and I's passports, I think we could have some really great adventures.

2)I am inherently lazy. Yep...if I have something that needs done, I will do it, but if I don't have a regular schedule...I can sit in the house for days...doing nothing.

3)I love to dance. Western swing, two-step, waltz...or wild rock and roll...it doesn't matter. I just love to get out on the dance floor and shake my booty.

4)I love learning things...Hmmm...three college degrees and I think I need another one? I think the perfect life would be if I could just go back to college for the rest of my life...that and horses.

5)I never wanted kids...but then I had Megan. I wouldn't change that for the world. But, I do wished I could go back in time and enjoy her all over again. I miss the times when she used to crawl into my lap with her ba-ba and blanket and stare at me while I rocked her to sleep...that seems so long ago.

6)I don't understand vegetarians or vegans or whatever other word some people come up with to explain not eating meat or animal products. One of the greatest joys I have in life is cutting into a perfectly prepared piece of meat and taking that first bite. Mmmmmm...now that is living! But, if you really can't bring yourself to enjoy meat...Uhhhh...Okay??? Just don't try to tell me how eating meat is wrong or going to kill me. I don't care!

7)I have two types of anger...the hot flash-yell, cuss, slam things around and then it is over. And the slow burn-you will never know I am angry until it is too late. When that happens(I'm like TrainWreck), I can and do hold a grudge.

8)I was very shy in high school and subsequently when I moved away to go to college, it was very difficult to make friends. I was sort of a geek...you know, the one who always said the wrong thing at the wrong time or laughed too loud or too long. It wasn't until I was in my mid-20's that I learned how to socialize, without alcohol.

9)I love chickens. I know, that is completely random. I haven't had chickens since I was a kid, but I love to watch them. When we lived in AZ-the quail always cracked me up. It was fun to sit outside and watch them run after a horse that was pooping or watch the little flocks come up to water. Those males were adament that they were going to keep their little flock seperate from the other flocks.

And finally...
10)The only cowboy I have ever dated in my life was my ex-husband. Seriously!! Cowboys have never, ever been attracted to me. As I got older, I realized I wasn't attracted to them anymore either...worked out well for me though...I found the man of my dreams anyway, he just rides a different kind of "horse".

Yep...I am a strange and random person. I prefer to call it "having a personality".;-)

Now I think this has made it's rounds, but if you didn't get it and would like to share...grab the decal and spill some wild and random facts about yourself...just remember to leave a comment that you are doing it so we can all come and see if you are as strange as the rest of us-LOL.

Now my friend CdnCowgirl gave me this quite a while back and I have been remiss in posting it...

I didn't forget Cdn...It's just that darn procrastination thing. Thank you for the award!!

New Year...New Goals

Like everyone else...the new year is a time to plan for the upcoming year and set goals. I thought I had mine pretty well established last fall, but considering that it has, yet again, become time to bid South Dakota adiu, once Megan has completed her school year here...those goals have changed more than a bit.

Moving to Colorado will be by far one of the easiest moves I will ever have to make. Since we have the next 5 months to gradually move things from here to there, I will have the opportunity to go through everything and get rid of the things I don't want anymore before moving. Also, there are things that I won't have to worry about taking, since I can pack unnecessary and duplicate items up and store them at my ranch.

Moving saddle horses has never been much of a problem. The easiest to move will be Moon, Strawberry, Frosty and Queenie. I will be taking everyone with me this time though, so Woofer, Shooter and Mighty Mouse will go too. Woofer is an old hat at traveling-since she is retired though, she will need a couple acre pasture and shelter. Shooter, being just a sprout, is going to need some room to roam-I just hate keeping babies cooped up, so a pasture is definitely in order for him. Mighty Mouse is going to need a dry lot. We'll be keeping an eye out for a little harness and cart for him(Mikey let Megan drive one of her ponies one time and Megan has never forgotten it). And then there will be the 2 mares this fall...It's Beauty's turn to get bred and Chunk should foal around the middle of May. They will need at least a couple acres to move around in. That makes 10 head total(including Chunk's predicted foal). Believe me...we are looking for more land. The softening market in GJ might not be such a bad thing, at least for us.

There are several projects I will need to get finished up before we move...there is another barn at the ranch that needs to be torn down, a shed that needs re-sided, the garage needs some patching, new doors and the floor needs to have the cement patched. The basement of the house needs to be drylocked and painted. And finally the rest of the junk piles that I started working on last year need to be hauled out.

On the horse front, Moon and Rip need to be re-conditioned-the high school rodeos are in May. I need to finally get Frosty doing something and Queenie needs to rejoin the saddle horse world.

I am going back to school, yet again! I already have my bachelor's in Business Admin, but both Chris and I think it would be very useful for me to get my Accounting degree as well. I am only a few credit hours away from that. It is going to be a bit of a switcheroo to get the correct classes in and accounted for...On Monday, I have to call the college in GJ to make sure that they will accept credits that I can take at the local Indian College. If they do, then I will go register for any accounting classes they provide this semester...next fall I will finish up the last few classes in GJ and have my 2nd bachelor's degree. There just simply isn't such a thing as too much schooling-LOL.

Last but certainly not the least...Chris and I will finally be able to get married! Yep! We have talked about it for years...but finally....We are going to do it. So I guess you could say that I am driving my engagement ring-hehehe. No date or place set yet...I'm leaning toward getting married in his mom's yard...she has a magnificent place in the Black Hills, flying to Vegas for the weekend and then topping it off with a bon-fire party at the Colorado house. Whatever we do will be fine. And to top it off...Chris has talked to Megan about adopting her!! Megan is all for that-her biological dad is not involved in her life and my ex-husband, who she always thought of as a dad has distanced himself from her since he remarried. We will finally be a complete family...making it easier for Chris to get his own kids more often too!

Everyone is going to have to hold on...this next year is going to be a whirlwind!!
