A Snow Day

I don't make New Year's Resolutions...But I am continuing last year's commitment into this year....

Last year, MH and I worked toward wrapping up a couple of businesses and trying to get our stuff organized. Problem is, I've had a few projects yet that just haven't gotten done and I'm all about getting my started, 80% finished, but not completed projects done before starting new ones.

Unfortunately...I got started on my LQ while in AZ...Got the demo done and the new wallpaper up and finished rounding up all of the additional items I need to finish it...But that is where it will have to stay until I either go back to AZ or it's later in the year here in CO.

In the meantime, I have been so busy with horses that I haven't been able to get to any of the other projects on my list. As much as I hate to say it...I kinda needed a 'snow day'. And I got it. Sadly, it was the day I was going to go to a barrel race. Booo!! No barrel race for me.

So I tore my house apart and repainted the kitchen, dining, little living room. It's been needing an additional coat of paint since all of that ceiling repair work a couple of years ago. Oohhh...I did the repairs and repainted it...But the sheen on the paint was different than the original paint and it was irritating the crap out of me. It sounds ridiculously trivial and nobody else ever seemed to notice it...but it sure bothered me. MH doesn't like it when he comes home from work and it looks like the house has been ransacked, so I kind of had to wait for a time when he was gone and I wasn't busy with more important things.

So after 2 days of cleaning, washing curtains, scrubbing baseboards/trim and painting up a storm...THAT project is done! I feel slightly silly repainting 1/2 the house in the exact same color it was before...But is sure does look fresh and clean again. Hopefully this paint job lasts longer than 5 years.

The weather is nice again, so it's back to the ponies and hopefully I can get started on the next project on my to-do list this week as well...Finishing up MH's 'man cave'. That really shouldn't take more than a couple of days either and that one I CAN do in the evenings. It's just little odds and ends of finish work, but still easier to do when the shop isn't being used.
