Social Butterfly

Whew...After the last few days, I feel like a veritable social butterfly. :-D.

Friday I spent part of the morning with the neighbors. Saturday I loaded up and headed to Apache Junction to watch CnJ's driving competition. If you don't read Cindy D. or CnJ's blogs already...Here are the links so you can catch up on the whole weekend. No sense reposting pics and or repeating the stories, when they already did a fine job.

Show In Style

Nuzzling Muzzles was also there taking photos. Nuz's Picture Post.

I can only add that I had a great weekend watching a new-to-me event (and now know what I am going to do when I turn into a little, old lady and can no longer throw a saddle on a horse. :-)...and getting to hang with Cindy D. and her family is always great fun. They are truly GREAT PEOPLE and I enjoy their company immensely.

As easy as it would have been to hang around on Sunday and yak away the afternoon, I knew Cindy and her family had things to do, so after our ride I loaded up and headed for home. I got home on with enough daylight left to turn the girls out for some free time and ride Moon. I talked to a friend about him on the drive home and I have some things to mull over.

Over the weekend I was also contacted by a long-lost friend and we made arrangements to get together on Monday morning. We were going to ride together, but my little stock trailer is full of hay and there is no way I could get my LQ into her place, so we just did coffee and visited through the entire morning.

The rest of this week looks to be about the same. I'm headed to a barrel practice on Tuesday, will most likely run Moon on Wednesday, get packed for the weekend on Thursday and then go make a run on Frosty on Friday. Saturday and Sunday is a rodeo in Gila Bend and after that...I may collapse....

Except that is not allowed. I'll start it all over again next week and if things are going smoothly, I had better get crackin on my fillies. I haven't been able to fit them these last couple of weeks because I have been focusing on the geldings, but it's high time they join the ranks too.

I'm glad you could make it out and had a good time. How was the dirt btw? I have a spare cart that needs a new home if you don't want to wait until you can't get on a horse or you get old. Hahaha.

You'll have fun at your upcoming events and if you post the when and where's, maybe some of the other bloggers can come out of their shells long enough to say Hi.

Funny enough that I read your posts about fixing your runs and apply it to my driving. It's really not a whole lot different. Soft horses, correct movement, compulsories for dressage and just add speed for the cones and hazards. It's all good.

Any week that is full of horse activities is a good week. My horse activities are limited to feeding, turn out and maybe once a week get to go to the indoor arena, the road is too slippery to ride on and the fields are pretty frozen and hard. Another month and it will be better!
