Time To Rock And Roll

I do hope everyone had a very, merry Christmas. The Hubby and I had a nice, quiet day. We like those probably a little more than we should. LOL. Sometimes I feel like we are getting old because we aren't into the hoopla of the holidays...But all either of us has to do is spend a few hours looking at the pissed off looking shoppers at holiday time and truth be told...I think we have the right idea.

But it's time to load those ponies and head for Arizona and that makes me happy, happy, happy!

I've spent the last couple of days twiddling my thumbs, anxious to be underway and wiling away time doing internet searches of the Phx area equestrian clubs...barrel races, gymkhanas and horse shows. I have an extensive list. I dunno how many of them I will fit into my schedule. I did the same searches last year and didn't get to any of them once the rodeo season started. But I am bound and determined to get to as many as I can before and in between rodeos this year.

I'm just so stinking excited about my horses and really want to focus on building some back-up for Moon. I've got the horsepower, time to just get them coming along. What is so fun is I've got so many horses that I can go different directions with. I mean, ultimately the hope is that at least a couple of them will turn into rodeo-worthy barrel horses...but in the meantime, I have every intention of 'playing'.

I want to do some cutting and working cowhorse stuff.

I can't wait to start working on my roping skills again.

I pulled out my 'show horse' clothes.

And dusted off the english saddle.

I'm tired of being a one-trick pony...so to speak. Oh, I'll never tire of rodeo. Back when I couldn't afford to and didn't have the time to do it, it's all I dreamed of. But there is so much more that I enjoy doing as well and like a horse that gets bored and burned out...I'm ready to do some fun things.

As frustrating as it was to lose a week, it always has a way of working out in the end. I'll take this load of horses down, get them settled, come back, get the 2nd load and MH will have a couple of days off again, so he is going to bring his stuff down when I bring the 2nd load of horses. I'll ride back with him, grab my little rig and make a final trip down. Then everything will be there and I can start rockin' n' rollin'. Yeaaa baby!!!

First of all, love your new header. Secondly, I love the "happy happy happy" quote. ;)

For awhile, all I ever did was trail ride on the same trails, in the same tack, and did the same thing. I LOVE trails but it's good to get out of your comfort zone and try different things! I bought a rope for roping and an english saddle just to remedy that. ;)

Love the new header. I have a feeling this blog will get even more exciting as you expand your repertoire in the arena :)
