Filling The Empty Slots

Now that my three competition horses are all lined out...it was time to add another one to the daily regime.

Bugs drew the short straw...(insert evil laughter)...

I have started riding him in the field next door and even though it has been his outside first trips by himself...he is doing pretty good. He's been ponied in that field enough that he is quite familiar with it, so nothing too scary there. Although, he is so obese that he couldn't do much, even if he had the inclination too. Just walking in that deep, soft plowed field makes him huff and puff like a 3-pack a day smoker.

Mrs Mom...THIS is what a little red dump truck looks like. ^^^^  LOL

Awww, poor Bugs. Back to work he goes. Even though he is a "little" plump, he looks mighty fine!! What a pretty boy he is!

Pudge or no pudge, he's a handsome boy! And that face says, "I'm ready to work!" LOL

LOVE a deep field for a green horse! He's gonna be a tank when he gets done "plowing" with you.

Is it just a trick of my eye or does he have a shoulder / neck structure a lot like Moon's? I'm looking at Bugs and the one of Moon in your header and I think I see a lot of similarity there.

Or I could just be being fooled by the similar poses.

Wow...Good eye Laura. Bugs and Moon are 1/2 brothers (same sire). I think Bugs ties in better at the base of his neck, but they both sure have the same saddle fit through the withers and stride the same in the front.

I can see the resemblance with Moon by comparing to the header photo. I do like Bugs front end... and hind end too.

He's a bit plump but not too bad... I'm sure in a few weeks we won't be able to say that.
What's the plan for him, taking him to some jackpots?

He photos well Cdn...He's a good 100lbs overweight and soft as a marshmallow. I can bury my finger up to the first knuckle in those fat globs behind his shoulder.

Lucky for me...he's just a 'fat' horse...no health issues to contend with, but still probably looking at 60 days or so before he's physically ready for much of anything.

I've never hauled him anywhere though, so I'll start hauling him with to the barrel racings with me and let him get used to everything while I am getting him in shape, getting some flexibility back and patterning him up.

You have your work cut out for you! What a nice job to have! That engine is powerful !

I just told Casey he has to go to work soon as he's getting FAT. I don't think he liked hearing that.

To the first knuckle? Wow he does photograph well! Can hardly wait to see the pics of him when he's fit, he'll be a total stunner :)

LOL at OS's comment above. I got a look of utter disgust from George when I told him he & Appy were on a diet. I reassured him that I am too ;)

Looking closer, I see what you mean about the neck / chest tie-in. They're both muscular lovely boys, though.

He is a little porker isn't he? lol He is one big handsome due though - can't wait to see what he looks like conditioned. We started out Ringo again last weekend. He bucked me off - moved back under me, beat me to hell since I couldn't get to the ground and then freaked out when I tried to get ahold of him. Not sure what set him off but he was shaking like a leaf so I let him calm down and got back on. Did ok but brought him to a friend to put some miles on before I start using him regularly this summer. He's a porker too right now!
I plan on seeing how he turns this fall - right now hes not 100% sure about bending on his own...oh the joys of a young horse!

*snork* I think Phat Boy and Bugs about tie on their plumpness right now ;) Thank God that Bugs does not have the issues we are fighting off with Phatz right now. (Who is gaining and doing better- THANK YOU AGAIN for your help there!)

You sure don't raise tiny critters out there do ya? LOL

Hey- smack Shooter's hams from me will ya? And "Baby" Guns.. and Beretta... lol
