By The End Of The Day...

My saddling station is a mess...
Drying blankets, piles of hair, grooming supplies and the inevitable poop piles.

I guess that shows I have been working. LOL

Deuce approves of the new Tod Slone pad...
I could do without him laying on it though. :( Bad kitty!!

He looks real concerned about my opinion doesn't he?...LOL

Now really, you wouldn't expect him to lie in the DIRT would you? ;)

As long as he doesn't decide to sharpen his claws on it, I think the pad is pretty safe. After all, he's being considerate enough to hold it down so it doesn't blow away!

Looks like my saddling station in the summer, I keep all my tack in my trailer, but in the garage in the winter.
Silly kitty, they are always up to no good, aren't they?

I put the pads on top of the saddle, wet side up to dry. That way one pad, one saddle for one horse... If there is any developments of skin irritations or fungus- nobody else is affected. f course that would mean brushes for each horse too....

The cat is showing he has good taste! Chooses the newest pad to lay on.

It amazes me how fast a kitty can find a cozy place to sleep. I left my dresser drawer open once and mine was in it in less than 15 minutes! Must be that sniffer!

*giggle* Deuce says there was already white hairs on the pad, so you won't notice a few more ;)

woohoo! That's a nice rig! I'd like one of those. How many horses go in that sucker??

My rig is a mess this time of year. It's even got moss growing on it. If the weather ever dries out I'm going to have to pressure wash the thing to get rid of all the green stuff.

Deuce looks quite content there. Probably proud of himself for pushing your buttons. Silly Kitty!

Four in the slant MiKael. The mid-tack is an awesome feature. There are doors on both sides, so you can groom/saddle without having to run around a lot. The rear tack collapses, so if I ever need to haul more than 4 head, I can pull the partitions, collapse the rear tack and haul 5-6 head.

The new 'in' thing is reverse slants and for extended hauling, I prefer that. I figure if I ever get to that point, I will pull 2 of the partitions and I can haul 2 horses facing backwards.

We (the Honey and I) looked at LQ trailers for a couple of years and just couldn't bring ourselves to invest that much money into one of them. Even though we plan on using this as a dual purpose unit-horses and motorcycles...it was just too expensive. It just so happened we picked this one up for a fraction of it's book value. The only think I do not like is that the toilet is in with the shower, but considering how much $$ we saved...I can deal with that. ;-)

Sadly, that new Tod Slone pad was supposed to be for Moon, but it doesn't help with the saddle fit issue. It's a lovely pad and fits several of the other horse's nicely. Obviously, I have been using it on Turk-the paint horse. He's shedding like crazy. ;-)

I have to stop back at the tack shop where I bought my Cactus Saddle and buy a Reinsman wool pad they have there that has the insert pockets behind the withers. That way I can buy foam pieces to insert to build up that area for Moon. The nice thing is that the foam inserts are removable, so as Moon's back changes, I can change the thickness of the inserts.

Making mental note: Reinsman pad with foam inserts... Might work for Casey...
