I did buy a new saddle today.See, My Honey gave me money as an Anniversary present, because I said I wanted to buy a barrel saddle that fit Moon. Obviously this is a personal item that MH would never dream of trying to purchase for me.
Sooo, since the Sharon Camarillo is going to fit Moon and all I had to do was order a more appropriate saddle pad. Which I did. My Tod Sloan is on the way. However, if that doesn't work, I am going to look into the CSI pads that SDCowgirl told me about.
Huh...So how come this little shyster is sitting in it?
Yea, well...The other day when I went to town to look for coolers, Meg and I saw this saddle. It's a Cactus Saddlery, Ladies All Around. And it was on sale. The lady in the store didn't know what the sale price was because they (the store owners) had just gotten back from The Denver Stock Show and hadn't had time to go through and remark everything. She asked me to stop back today.
I just couldn't resist. After all, I was given the money to purchase a new saddle...r.i.g.h.t.??
The fact of the matter is, Megan and I have been wanting a roping saddle that wasn't so stinking heavy. My roping saddle is a beast and it was the only one we had that had a tree that could handle being roped in. So...now we finally have a 2nd saddle that is more appropriate for break-away roping in and we can also run barrels in. I specifically told Megan that we are going to 'share' this saddle, but to be honest, the poor kid hasn't had her own saddle since she outgrew her youth Sharon Camarillo a few years ago.

I haven't heard of the Cactus brand. Guess it's been a while since I worked in the tack store I used to be up on most everything. Looks like a nice saddle. Wish a saddle was in the cards for my anniversary, guess I should be happy he tolerates my horse addiction at all. LOL

LOL-Lisa...Meg has a thing for funky socks. I don't know where she comes up with some of them.
Mikael-Cactus Saddlery is geared toward the rodeo crowd. I don't know if they make anything but event specific saddles-Roping Saddles, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling and of course they are the makers for Charmayne James' barrel saddles.
She does look good on that saddle. Isn't it great when you and your kid use the same size. GunDiva was gracious enough to help break-in my first saddle. Now our problem is my horses have broad backs and hers doesn't, so she needs to find one of her own...but she is experienced in 'breaking them in'. LOL

Sweet! Love the tooling. So you are still getting a saddle for Moon? Have you looked in to the newer barrel saddle by Martin with an axis tree? I have a friend with one and she now swears by that tree and adjustable rigging.

If the Sharon Camarillo doesn't work (which I think it will with the right pad), the new saddle fits Moon. So that issue is handled for now.
Meg will have share a little in that case. LOL

For our anniversary and Valentine's Day this year, I'm getting a new puppy. Expensive puppy. Some days I wish it were both a puppy AND a saddle. Just not in the budget right now...
Ohhhh I really like that saddle! You have very good taste - I can tell you do by the way you decorate too your house pics always rock!
And you can always sell the old one and use that money to help on a different saddle...
