Not Exactly Eye Candy...

Unless you are a horse crazy teenager who has been missing a particular big, ugly blue roan horse(LOL-;).

It took all of about 2 seconds for her to get him out of his stall, brushed off and get hopped on...

It was like these two had never missed a beat...

One of the others to come home with me is the tall, gawky 5y/o we 'lovingly' refer to as the giraffe...
Jet(aka-VooDoo) has finally matured enough physically to be started under saddle. I suppose I should have gotten around to it last year, but lack of facilities really was a hinderance. Don't let that head fool you, the rest of him is quite lovely...
The move has been the hardest on him. He has not been off of the ranch since my brother brought him home from a sale as a weanling. He does not like being seperated from his buddies(even though they are right there) and is not really comfortable being confined. But he is eating and drinking just fine, so he will just have to work through things.

Then there is Bugs(aka-Smoke)...
A 10y/o restart. Actually I restarted him a couple of years ago, but....well...time sure does fly doesn't it?-LOL. Bugs is Moon's 1/2 brother(same sire) and I know this horse can fly. He'll definitely going to make a barrel horse. Hopefully sometime before he is old enough to vote-LMAO.

Finally, there is Rip's 3/4th brother, Spooks...
Spooks is Meg's new project horse. Since Rip is pretty solid, she can work on finessing him and spend real training time getting Spooks finished.
Spooks, in true horse fashion, managed to damage himself just a couple of days before having to rejoin the work force...
This lovely little round bulge runs across his face and just below both eyes. Sure doesn't do much for his looks. At first mom thought that he had gotten kicked in the face...we all know how stupid horses in the spring can be-bucking and kicking. But, it looks more like he ran into the corral fence as the swelling looks exactly like a pipe rail. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long for that to go down, I know Meg is anxious to get to work on him.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ;) to MY eyes, they are ALL eye candy! (But I kinda like clunky heads atop big bad ass bodies anyways.. lol... Just ask Dear Husband- thats what he tells me all the time.. HA~)

So like, OK, those guys look awesome, but WHERE is Baby Guns????? (Come on, you KNEW that had to be coming, right?? HEHEHE)

Tell Meg we need to clone her--- Sonny would love for her to school him some too.

Spooks is cute! That bump looks like a guttural pouch bump. Seen it on a few horses, exact same place and look.

Sydney-I had to look that up. I've heard of horses having reactions or infections that could cause swelling like this, but never experienced having it happen. Maybe just to be on the safe side, I'll start Spooks on an immune system booster for a few days to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for bringing that up. It never dawned on me that it could actually be some sort of infection.

I give Meg crap about Rip being 'ugly', but I'll tell ya what, last year I thought I was going to have to start padlocking him to the trailer. We couldn't take him anywhere that someone didn't ask if he was for sale. When you tell them there's not enough money, they all nod knowingly. Horses like him are hard to come by and it is never worth it to part with them. Spooks will be the same kind of horse and probably even better. He is smoother made and more correct, which will let him excel in the areas that Rip was a bit limited on.

We need Guns pics!! That blue roan is sure sweet. Bone and Brains is right!! Big feet on that sucker.

Must be nice to have your stock there and have the facilities to put them to work.

Oh yes that blue roan is a knock out!! I am so partial to them! But yet I don't own any LOL!! Interesting bump on spooks' face...You'll have to update and let us know if you decide to do an immune booster. You have a lot of work to do now girl, I'm not thinking there will ever be down time for you!!

Aahh true love for sure!!! I think he's a good looking horse too. I get tired of looking at all the various shades of solid browns and reds...boring!! :)

I like the roan! What a sweet face, and that's something you can't train into them. That look is priceless.

Bone and brains are good. I'd rather have those anyday than a pretty face without either of them.

I hope that knot does go down. When Rhythm did that, it was a permanent addition to his face. The only thing that saved him was he did it right in the "dish" part of his face so it filled it in and didn't look deformed even though it was.
