Fat Boy

I would say the buckskin horse has wintered well...

Too well!...

Oh good god, this is ridiculous...

I'm gonna call him Claus(Nix that...for now, he will be known as the Sta-Puff Pony-LMAO) until we get some of this blubber off. No kidding, when I was brushing him this afternoon, his belly(and everything else) giggled like a bowl full of jelly. Ick!

That shape looks familiar.

Way too early for me to worry about that around here yet. Thank goodness

Ah, the winter rolls are here! LOL I'm glad no one takes a bunch of pictures of me after Winter...

We have four that look the same way - but here in MN it is still too early to think about thinning down... we have some cold weather yet to go thru! April we will be fighting thru the muddy season and attempt to get everybody brushed out...

I hate to admit this but... Applejack has him beat. Poor Applejackers is WAY fat.

But then again I'd rather them come out of winter a bit thick than thin.

I read your post title and thought, "OMG she got a new Fat Boy (Harley)!!!!" LOL... well that fat boy is pretty sweet lookin' too!

Hee hee! :) I suppose you'd rather have them come out of winter overweight than underweight? My Boy is looking pretty good this year, some winters he's gotten too fat, but this time, I think he's okay. We'll see what the vet/chiro says when she comes out on Friday! She may think otherwise! ;)

And that's why I often send them to Heather's when the grass starts to come up. They get thinned down then come back here and pig out on the grass. The circle of life.

LOL... when's the baby due? ;)

lol - he is a bit on the chubby side! Rusty is too and like the others said - chubby is better than too thin! I'm sure you'll have him back in fighting shape in no time...

If you get a chance, could you do a short post about conditioning? I don't know much beyond the basics... How long should the rides be, how much trotting, etc...???

ahaha fatty boy. At least your not poking at hip bones.

Laura-Foraml conditioning is a weak knowledge spot for me, but I'll see what I can work up.
