Shooter

Here is a few photos of Shooter that Megan took just a couple of weeks ago. Hard to believe all of the horses were slick and shiny one day and puff balls the next.

Even though he is on a bit of a down hill slope in these pictures, he really is butt-high right now. Appropriate for a nearly 16 month old colt. At least he is coming out of that "long as a bus" stage he was in.

I love how flat-kneed he travels...
Hard to believe when he was Beretta's age he had the same aweful, thick, coarse looking neck and throatlatch on him that she has at the moment...
I guess I will just have to keep him. He is so ugly no one in their right mind would take him off of my hands...
Hope you all know that is a joke?? Not love or money could get this colt away from me! ;-)

Yeah girl he has to be one of the ugliest yearlings I have ever seen!! You might just want to ship him down here so nobody will know that he came out of your farm!! LOL!! Dang, he is one handsome devil! I LOVE bays and he is awesome. Don't get me wrong, I still love Blue Horse, but dang that Shooter is awesome!! I love his face, so sweet!

Glad you clarified that. Cause if he's "that ugly" then you can send that right on down to my house. If that's ugly, I need more ugly horses :)
He's gonna be a great horse :)

Geez I keep telling you that either Shooter or Beretta (or both) are more than welcome to come live here!!! lmao

Seriously though, I have a weakness for cute bays :)

Man oh man that 'little guy' is starting to look so grown up!

Oh come on...don't you guys wished that fugly would start talking about how ugly and coarse foundation bred horses are again? Or how line-breeding and in-breeding have no place in modern day breeding programs?

I know...that's my own personal dislike of some of her opinions. I have a tendency to be that way when people with no actual experience try and act all educated and stuff...LMAO.;)

Honestly...I think Shooter is the most beautiful colt I have ever raised. The calling him "ugly" thing is how people around here try to show something, they are really proud of, to others without coming off as boastful.

One of my mom's friends, a really good horseman, told me when I got tired of looking at his scrawny, ugly butt, I could dump him in his pasture. He even offered me a dollar for him. What he really meant was that he thought Shooter was really a good looking colt and would take him in a heartbeat. By offering me the dollar he was saying that even though most people couldn't get their young horses sold or even given away...we would be willing to pay for him.
I know...kinda messed up language. But that's how these old cowboy types are. I love 'em for it.
