I was very saddened this evening to get on the internet and discover that Patrick Swayze had passed away.
Besides the fact that he was one of the major heartthrobs of my high school era...He was also into horses. Good looking, he could dance aaannndd he had horses? He was definitely many a girl's dreamboat. Funny how we all managed to conveniently forget he was married...to the same woman...all of that time.;)
But in spite of that, through all the years...he just seemed...so normal. He always struck me as a guy that would fit in wherever he happened to be. You just can't say that about too many of today's Hollywood "set".
Rest in Peace Mr. Patrick Swayze and Condolences to your family!

Oh, I am so sorry to reas this. I always was a fan of his. He will be missed.
Thank you for this tribute - I hadn't heard this yet!
I am so sad he didn't win this battle. Although I think he fought it longer than most people with pancreatic....he was a fighter! Now I want to watch Dirty Dancing....one of my favorite P.S. movies!!
I am so sad to hear this. I have always liked him too. So, so sad.
Another icon of our past is lost. It made me think of Michael Landon, who I also loved & we also lost to pancreatic cancer -- the cancer that my mom also fought & lost. To have Patrick live with it for over a year was a wonderful gift -- it usually takes its victims much more quickly.
God speed, Patrick Swayze. RIP.
My fiance had to break the news to me gently this morning. I met Patrick when I used to work on the Arab circuit. He was amazing, friendly, caring, considerate, passionate about his horses, his wife and his work...
He will be missed as a good man
I found this so sad...............
He definitely seemed to be an admirable man for sure, especially for the Hollywood set. He was one of my favorite hearthrobs too, gorgeous, sexy, athletic, a horse lover, and a committed husband. Definitely admirable. Rest in peace...your life speaks for itself.
