Of course, there is our bike...
A standard off the floor Wide Glide...that Honey had a few things done too-lowered, custom handlebars and odd bits of added chrome. He rode to Sturgis, from Grand Junction with some friends this year. He thought about bringing the "bagger", his Street Glide, but we love this bike and really enjoy riding it-comfort be damned right? He also has a custom rigid, but it lacks a passenger seat and pegs for me. I've ridden the fender a few times and just wrap my legs around him, but not very practical(or legal) for longer rides.
Hmmmm...no wonder Palomino is My Honey's favorite color of horse! Wow! I just figured that one out...Duhhhh!!!
Rat bikes...

I love seeing all of the interesting and cool add-ons...
I loved that white bike above. So classy, yet tons of personal touches.
Custom paint jobs galore... Not even a Harley! This is a factory Victory...
The "custom" bike craze has gone pretty much by the wayside. By far and away the majority of the bikes these days are baggers. Honey and I decided that most people who got into bikes in the beginning went with customs, decided they actually liked to ride...and went with baggers-Street Glides/Ultra Glides and the like. They are much easier to handle and the comfort is out of this world.
But there will always be customs around...
And then there is this pig...
Holy Hell...who on earth needs 502 horse power...on a motorcycle? Just for reference...that is 98 MORE horse power, on two wheels, than I have with my ONE TON DUALLY DURAMAX pickup! People are just crazy-LMAO
Stay tuned...I have pictures of a beautiful one-of-a-kind tack item for tomorrow. You see EVERYTHING at Sturgis!!!

Bikes are definitely not my thing, but they sure have a bit of everything at Sturgis don't they!
Sounds like you had a great time too...I think we need to do the "party pad" when we go to Pendleton...that sure beats folding camp chairs!!
My husband would be in heaven. He loves bikes. He wants to sell all the horses and get bikes. He has gone to Steele Pony Express in New Orleans a few times. Just a question, but why do (some) biker woman walk around half naked??
Andrea-LOL...Because they can!;)
In reality, the most likely reason is from the 60's/70's and the rise of the "biker gangs". Mostly the girls who hung around with them were strippers or became strippers. After that it just became a "culture" thing. The "old lady" may not be a stripper anymore, but most of their biker ensemble is still geared toward that look, particularly...mostly during Rally occasions. It's not real practical for long rides, but for toodling around in such surroundings-the old lady is still a bit of an ornament. Kinda like "Look, I have a bad-ass looking bike and a bad-ass looking old lady"=bad-ass biker.
That's my 2cents worth of phylosophy. That and it's way fun to be able to wear stuff that is socially unacceptable any other time of year.;)
