Remember what I said about the weather in SD? One day it was 74 degrees and the next we had us a full blown blizzard. Thankfully, there was only a couple of inches of snow that came with this, or things would really be in a mess. I guess I should classify the blizzard as a mini blizzard...cause it only lasted one day and today it was back up to 45 degrees and the sun was a shining.
There was just enough moisture to make things muddy...so horse activities are curtailed somewhat. The equine dentist was supposed to be here on Thursday, but they got much more snow than we did and he said he cannot get his vehicles out to get here. Rescheduled for next week. Well, at least that will give me time to get more feet trimmed. I kinda hate having people out to work on the horses and they look like they have just been pulled in from the pasture. LMAO-well, they have just been pulled in from the pasture, but I prefer them to have pretty toes and at least the snarls out of their manes and tails. If this moisture keeps up there will be no way to keep them from being mud balls though, so I might just have to settle for neatly manicured feet.
The weather did give me a couple of much needed days of rest though. I tell ya, a person realizes just how out of shape they get in the winter. Pitching hay and hauling water may keep me from gaining weight, but sure don't keep me in shape for much else. But now, I'm ready to get back at it...I think.:)

Nothing like a little blizzard to throw everyone off track....isn't it crazy? I know what you mean about mud balls, my spotted boy loves being a mud ball! I hate it when it gets ground and caked into their hocks, it is always so hard to get off of there!
We are setting up for our horses to have their teeth done next month, too. It'll be my first time having his done since I've owned him, I'm nervous about it! I just hope he's good for it, LOL!
See now the words 'spring' and 'blizzard' should just never go together. We've had over 80 degree weather here for weeks. The redbuds and mt laurels have already finished blooming. Finished. I am a sunbelt girl all the way. I dunno if I would emotionally take a spring blizzard very well.
Man you all are getting the weather this year aren't ya?
I feel the same way about my horses and their manes and tails and feet...I feel like if some PETA crazed persondrives by they'll be all,"oh my God, look at the 'scraggly' horses" and nevermind how fat and glossy they are...
So I'm constantly brushing and detangling and filing down feet. I feel like I'm a slave to the idiots of the country sometimes...
I guess we just have to love spring for what it is, don't we??? LOL!!!
Soooooo....can Snip come live at my house??? Pretty please???? And I thoroughly enjoyed watching Megan's video. I remember those days.....
talk about throwing you off on that one huh! Our temps have dipped back down below freezing overnight again so im hoping we don't get the same sort of weather in the next few days.....
This post sounds like it could have happened here from the weather changes to the manes and tails needing help......not to mention those toes. LOL
