Shooter

My darling Shooter is no worse for wear for going over a fence. A couple of scratches on his forearm. You can't even see them and have to really feel with your fingers to even find them. He is such a level headed little turd. Mom and Megan said he wasn't even excited. So Megan caught him and led him out a side gate and down the road home. There is a "lane" between our pasture and the neighbor's. Decades ago, it was put in to keep horses from fighting over the fence.

He is so hard to take pictures of. He always wants attention...

LOL...That would be Woofer's front feet that are sticking out of a "delicate" place...

And then I get the glare of the sun...

I am trying really hard to get a video of him loping back and forth in front of the house. He's such a pleasure prospect. Kinda wondering how that happened.

He is growing a frosted tail...
Both sides of his tail are growing in white. Looks like a lot of white is coming in throughout the whole tail actually. That aught to look interesting when all the baby curls are grown out.

So Shooter is growing up to be a WP horse now??? What about those genetics (insert big smile) LOL!!!!! Just kidding with ya'!!

I am glad that he is okay. Is he related to any of your roan horses?? (I am thinking of the white in his tail)

And dang...he is getting huge!!!! :)

Cdn-I hope 15.1 is the biggest he gets. Momma is exactly 15H, daddy is 15-15.1H.

Hmmmm, well there goes that WP career Melanie, he just won't be tall enough. LOL-I think he's genetically confused. See daddy is foundation cutting/race horse bred and momma was supposed to be a halter horse. Incidentally she is also foundation cutting/race horse bred.
As far as his tail, I don't know where that is coming from either. Neither momma or daddy have any roan or graying genes. He's not related to any of the roan horses. My dun barrel horse, Moon is his 1/2 brother(out of the same mare), but other than that, Shooter is not related to anything else we have. Yet! His 2 brothers/sisters will be here in a couple more months.

I think dogs chasing him is what sent him over the fence. The neighbor said her dogs weren't out. But who knows-since I wasn't here. I know that they have been over here barking at the geldings before. Of course the geldings won't run, so not much fun in that. I just let her know that I can't have them over here barking at the horses, at all, since I will very soon have pregnant mares here.

Girl, when you get a chance pop over and read the post about Willis and let me know what you think of his breeding. I don't know enough about it, I want to pick your brain, your'e a wealth of knowledge when it comes to that!

Can't wait to see him full grown, that Shooter is nice looking I tell ya!

Your right - looks like he's got the build for a pleasure horse.

Does he got the mind? The desire for slow?
