Two Words...

MARES ROCK!!!!!!

The 2008 World Champion Barrel Racer...
Lindsay Sears on the one...the only...Martha...the super freaking fast mare of my dreams!!!

And of course, there is no doubt my South Dakota heart swells with pride for this home-raised duo...
Jill Moody and Dolly...aka...Miss Consistency!!
Jill and Dolly won the Average...not much you know...just a little over $42,000 for winning that.

And for all the nay-sayers out there that say Foundation Bred horses can't run fast enough to keep up with the modern horses...

Eat Dolly's Dust!!!

Whew it's over for another year...I have refrained from discussing the barrel horses of the NFR because I am superstitious...yea...I know...it's not like I am riding there, but I sure didn't want to jinx a good thing-LOL. Now I can finally start dishing on the pedigrees of these fantastic horses...you won't believe how much some of them have in common. ;)

2007 was the year of the mares in the NRHA!!! A mare won the derby and the futurity.

I am suprised, you didnt strike me as a superstitious type!

LOL-Horse Crazed...When it comes to rodeo I am. Most rodeo people are-lucky arenas, partners, horses, shirts, totems...most of us have a little something that we contribute toward our success.

What can I say??*shrug*-LOL.

YEAH, Jill! And she's a hometown girl, too - or as close to it as makes no difference :) And you should see her daughter run - she's a half-pint yet, but just wait a few years, and she'll be giving mom a run for her money, I think.

Love the feeding get-up - lol! The horses all looked at me funny today, cause I finally broke out my coveralls - what with all the layers, I waddle. Or maybe it was the hat? But they always decide that as long as I FEED them, I must be okay. *Grin*

I love Dolly and Martha!

So many people go on and on about BPP's horse Stitch. Yeah he wins but have you watched him run?
(if he were mine) I think I'd have to go to the chiro for an adjustment every time I rode him!
So choppy and rough on his front end.
It makes me wonder how well he'll hold up in the long run.

MARES ROCK! You are so right! Love mine, wouldn't trade her for the world!

Having said that I'm riding her half brother and he is coming along well too! He is the 3 year old "Willis" that I have been riding!
