Thanks to my niece for getting some photos of my new girlie.
Here she is as a newborn...
Whew...those legs were a little scary looking at first...
Looking at those pictures of the filly as a newborn is like deja vu'. The new filly looks exactly like her mother did when she was born.
Didn't take long for the little girl to fill out and straighten up though...
The two photos above must have been when she was just a couple weeks old. Beauty must be milking like a Jersey cow. That's awesome for a maiden mare.
The photos below are of her at one month old...
I haven't decided on a name for her yet...kinda leaning toward Kimber (another good gun name ;-)...but I hear her nickname around the place is 'Goat'. She's always climbing on the hay bale and her mother. Sometimes jumping from the hay bale onto her mother. Oiy Vey! She's quite the character.
I'm thinking this little girl is going to be a keeper. ;-) Hahahaha...I say that about all of them. Since we raise babies for ourselves and not for resale...They are all keepers.

I never worry too much about the legs the first few days. She looks like a solid little thing!
She is gorgeous! And Johnnie taught me not to panic about wonky legs the first few days , she was obvioulsy , just showing a little at a time of how nice she would be
She is SO cute! Is it strange (and maybe creepy) that I love foal butts? All the little bumps and curves are just so cute!!
Wow if that's what momma looked like as a baby can I be first in line to buy her if you change your mind and decide to sell?
She sure did grow into those incredibly looooong legs, didn't she? looking better and better every day too.
PS- I like the name Kimber.
Kimber is cool. Goat is kinda cute too. She has a nice chest. I do like a sturdy horse.
Pretty baby, and looks like she'll be one fearsome athlete!
What a beautiful filly! I think she's going to look just like her Momma... that face is just lovely. You could call her Belle after her Mom, Beauty. Dear God just call her something before Goat sticks!!! lol
I like Kimber too. For some reason when I saw her I thought of the name Fly... but then I realized that could also be the bug... I was thinking more like "dang that girl looks like she'll fly!"
C.
she sure looks nice, long legs should sure make her fast!
I'm just tickled pink with her. If she's anything like Beretta, who is a 3/4th sister to her, I'll be ecstatic.
And Yes, C...definitely have to get her named proper before 'Goat' sticks. Uugghh...It will be hard enough to quell my brother's use of the name as it is. He was always trying to change the horse's names when he first moved home, but when no one would go along with calling them whatever he thought was a funny name, he did give up...finally.
Funny you should mention Belle. It's kind of a toss-up between calling her Kimber or Belle Starr. I'm not fond of the two name, barn name though, so that is why I was leaning toward Kimber.
I do like the name Fly. Know of a super nice gelding named Fly. Not to worried about the 'bug' reference. After all, she is a Lady Bugs Moon.
She sure is cute!
