At least you gave it a shot. More than some people would have done for him and his nestmates. He will suffer no more- the best we can hope for any animal. RIP Bob
I'm sorry Bob didn't make it. Those darn wild babies are just so sensitive! We've had several "displaced" baby birds around the property here this year (ie, fell out of the nest). I've made the kids leave them alone so nature could take it's course. Perhaps it's heartless of me, but I didn't want the kids getting attached and for super sensitive Doodle to become overly distraught if the birds didn't make it. Plus, I have like a kajillion cats. I'm not sure a bird would be safe in my house, which would be even more upsetting to the kids.

Kidding. RIP, baby Bird Bob. You tried, BEC, all you can do is your best, and you did it.
Nature is a harsh mother.

Poor little Bob... at least he was loved before he went! Rest in peace, buddy.
Crud. Hate that, when you finally think they're going to make it. Fragile little things...hugs.
